The essence of art is to express oneself. Children when they are young, they start by making marks on walls and other places. Thus an early art education helps them to make their mark on the world in ways that people will appreciate. Art provides children opportunities for self-expression, bringing their inner world into the outer world of concrete reality. It improves its academic achievement- enhancing test scores, attitudes, social skills, critical and creative thinking.

The goal of art education is to bring out the creative, expressive and aesthetic potential of each child, and to promote the attitudes, thinking and discipline necessary for all types of learning. In the broadest sense, art education should serve as a catalyst for a lifetime of meaningful, fulfilling and creative experiences, and enhance the very quality of life; enabling our children to continue being throughout their life, Learners Learning to Learn.

According To the CCE system of CBSE Art education is very important. It gives more importance to co-scholastic area of a child and gives them new ideas, visions and imaginations to form and reform their life. It opens a wide horizon of colours and thoughts before the children. In this modern world, it is also a remedial subject to overcome the day-to-day stress. It is a universal language like music and gives a broad vision

The Art department encourages responsiveness to new ideas and respect for individual differences by fostering: respect for oneself and one's own work (self-esteem, and a striving for excellence), respect for others and their work, and respect for other cultures and their art.
